The Birmingham 2022 Organising Committee has launched the Birmingham 2022 Festival, the biggest celebration of creativity ever in the region and one of the largest ever Commonwealth Games cultural programmes.
The festival, which runs until September, will include over 200 events, an open-air show, an immersive 3D experience on public transport and a brand-new Birmingham inspired album.
The Festival officially began on 17 March in Centenary Square, with the performance of Wondrous Stories, a spectacular open air show which was watched by thousands. The show included aerial displays, acrobatics, dance and magic.
The Games aims to bring people together, improve health and wellbeing, help the region to grow and succeed, be a catalyst for change and put Birmingham back on the global stage and the Cultural Festival is very much at the heart of this.
We have all been waiting for an opportunity to get together again and celebrate. So in the words of the Festival organisers, Lets Go Out!
